Claudia Michel is Head of Agricultural Policy & Stakeholder Affairs Europe in Bayer AG Division Crop Science, which belongs to the very large membership category and is based in Germany with activity in all EU countries. Bayer specialised in the production of micro-organisms.
Claudia Michel with more than 25 years of experience in the agricultural and food sector has the vision to foster understanding of plant biostimulants in sustainable agriculture and place it firmer on the regulatory & policy map as an agenda setter and game changer.
In her current role as Head of Agricultural Policy and Stakeholder Affairs for Europe at Bayer, she works on policies on sustainable agriculture, integrated farming, sustainable use of plant protection products and industry sustainability activities. She coordinates political stakeholder engagement work at regional level and represents Bayer at the European Crop Protection Association (ECPA). Previously, she has worked as Director for Sustainability and Stakeholder Relations at the European Crop Protection Association (ECPA), as Deputy Director General of a Food-sector association and for the European Commission (Directorate General for Agriculture). With my experience in industry association work, advocacy and understanding of plant protection policy and regulation, I will be able to actively engage and contribute to the ongoing informal discussions between EBIC and IBMA on a closer collaboration.
Claudia is highly motivated to contribute to EBIC’s goals and serve on the EBIC board of directors and aims to encourage good decision-making through collaboration and results-driven attitude with energy, enthusiasm and a true passion for sustainable agriculture.
She holds a University Degree in Agricultural Economics from the University of Bonn, Germany.
